Housing and community investments

Hennepin County and Met Council have already been investing in affordable housing and other community and economic development projects in the corridor, and will continue to grow these efforts as planning for the light rail continues.

Since 2014, Hennepin County has invested more than $17 million in housing and community development projects in the corridor, including:

  • $4 million to support 11 affordable housing projects
  • $3 million to support 12 community-supported transit-oriented development and business district projects
  • $10 million to support 15 infrastructure, placemaking, arts and cultural projects
